Dancing from the age of four, Yasmini's early dance education included classical ballet, modern dance, contemporary dance, jazz ballet, tap, Spanish flamenco and African dance, most forms were continued on to tertiary level. Originally a professional Western dancer performing shows all over Australia and Asia, Yasmini met a famous American bellydancer, Sakti Rinek, while touring in Asia. She was inspired to take up the art of bellydance and began extensive training with a range of interstate and international Egyptian, Lebanese, Greek and Turkish master-teachers, such as Rozetta, Leonie Sukan, Terezka, Amera Eid, Nayima Hassan, Aisha Ali, Katherine Ferguson, Denise Enan, Dr Mo Geddawi, Aida Nour, Yousry Sharif, Ibrahim 'Bobby' Farrah, Bert Balladine, Leila Haddad, Suzannah Del Vecchio, Delilah, Dahlena and Laurel Victoria Grey . Yasmini has travelled to Egypt, Europe and America to further her knowledge and research the dance, music, costuming and culture. An experienced workshop presenter throughout Queensland and at the Sydney Middle Eastern Dance Festival, her favourite styles are Egyptian folkloric ( including stick dancing), Egyptian baladi, Egyptian classical and sword dancing. Yasmini has several tertiary qualifications, including a Bachelor of Human Movement Studies ( majoring in dance and psychology), from the University of Queensland, and is a registered psychologist, particularly interested in learning and cognition.

An accomplished zills player, Yasmini particularly enjoys dancing with live musicians. Yasmini is known for her ability to liven up any celebration and encourage party-goers to try belly-dancing themselves.Yasmini has been a regular performer at Brisbane restaurants ( Lebanese,
Egyptian, Turkish, Greek, Persian and Indian) for many years, and also performs at weddings, pre-wedding parties, birthdays, corporate functions, xmas parties and other celebrations. She specialises in hen's parties, creating a fun atmosphere and bringing good luck to the bride-to-be.
Yasmini is also available for workshop presentations and private tuition, as co-founder and teacher of the Academy of the Middle of Middle Eastern Dance.
